The Chancel Choir is a non-auditioned choir open to anyone 16 or older. No previous musical experience or knowledge is necessary. Membership in the Chancel Choir requires committment, a love of singing and the desire to minister through music. This choir leads the music at both Traditional Worship services each Sunday, at 9 and 11 a.m. From August through May, we rehearse each Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 in the Sanctuary. We occasionally have extra rehearsals in preparation for special events such as Christmas, Easter, Community Thanksgiving, etc. Our repertoire generally includes traditional anthems and responses accompanied by piano or organ. New members may join at any time during the year. Click here to let Jeanne know you are coming to practice, so your folder will be ready for you!
This handbell choir is open to adults and youth; at least one year previous handbell experience preferred. The ability to read music is required. Practice is each Monday evening in the Music Annex, upstairs from the Curry Fellowship Hall. At this time we do not offer a beginner/intermediate bell choir for adults, due to insufficient participation at this level. However, if you are interested in ringing in a beginner group, please let Jeanne know, as we periodically assess interest in starting new groups.
At this time, we do not have a standing instrumental ensemble. However, we use instrumentalists throughout the year to accompany our choirs or to provide other special music in regular worship services or special events. We also have a praise band in rehearsals for the re-start of our contemporary service. If you play an instrument and would be willing to play occasionally with the choir, as a soloist, or with other instrumentalists, or if you would like to audition for the Praise Band, please contact Jeanne with your information (instrument, experience, availability).
This class includes 12 weekly sessions, covering basic music notation and theory. Offered periodically, either August-November, or January-April. If you are interested, please contact Jeanne.
